So it was half term last week and I did a little bit of shopping, although I mainly bought clothes I thought I would share the Nail things I bought.
So here most of them are. These were just the things I bought from Poundland. I was really impressed to find some of the Sally Hansen polishes in there, I've heard that some other bloggers have found some but i'd never seen any in my local poundland until now.
I'll go into more detail into these after the break...
So first of all, my favourite bit... Nail Polishes!
The two Sally Hansen I picked up from Poundland, on the left 340 - Black Platinum, and on the right 310 Gilty Pleasure. I still can't get over how big the Sally Hansen bottles are.. I mean look at them compared to the Rimmel Bottle!
Black Platinum is exactly what the name says, its not quite black and is a little shiny and looks almost silvery in the sunlight, really pretty.
Gilty Pleasure is a Gold Shiny polish and I saw a post by someone else the other day which I wanted to try and do with a gold like this, so finding this for only a pound means its a bargain!
The Rimmel Polish I picked up simply because I didn't have a yellow polish and wanted one. Its number 280 - Sunshine.
I haven't had a chance to try these yet. But I can't wait to get them out and see :)
Next on the list to get in Poundland was some make-up sponges. I've cut mine at the moment almost up to pieces as I use it quite a lot to do my nails. These come in quite a few different colours and are a very odd texture, I haven't had a chance to check them out with polish yet, but they feel very weird.
I was looking for some triangular make-up sponges as they are meant to be good and probably easier to use as some of these are quite thin and the polish might soak through, but sadly these were the only ones I could find. But for a pound, again I can hardly complain.
I also got some Nail Files from Poundland, mine is completely used up, and I absolutely love polka dots.
However, these files are absolutely terrible. You can't really see it on this other photo, but this was the first time I ever used one of the files and I completely used up both sides trying to file my nails, and yet, it did almost nothing. Definitely not buying these again.
The next thing I bought was a Nail Stamping kit. I wanted to give it a go and I noticed on this blog that Poundland was selling 'dupes' of Konad stampers. I didn't notice at the time that the packaging on mine is actually different so I don't know if this one is actually a dupe.
I have given this a go, but to no avail, i've had a couple of struggles recently with things not going right so i'll probably put it in a separate post.
The final thing I didn't actually buy in the city but my mum found it and gave it to me as my nails are always breaking. I'm not sure how old this is or even if its still for sale. It has helped my nails, a lot. I'm sure you'll actually be able to see the difference in their length in the next post, I mean I know its sunny and so nails grow more, but my nails usually start to peel off the top layer at the end and it isn't as much as it usually does.
The only problem I have with this is that its so thin and liquidy (if that's even a word), it runs out of the bottle so quickly its almost impossible to get the right amount out which is rather annoying.
Hope you liked the post, hopefully back to some proper nail action soon now exams are over!
Wow what an amazing haul! I can't believe you got SallY H from Poundland!! When I'm back in England I am going there for sure! I hope you have fun playing with your new beauties, I look forward to seeing what you create next!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I know, I couldn't believe it either! The next day I was in the city again and they said some different colours which I really wanted to look at but was in too much of a rush! I really wanted to go in their stockroom and go through all the Sally Hansen because i'm sure they would have had plenty more amazing colours back there.
